- Freedom. We owe much to all those who have served in the armed forces to keep our country safe. We take our freedom for granted, but we would quickly understand how precious it is if it were taken from us.
- Abundance. Grocery stores piled with an amazing variety of food. Information of every kind available at the touch of a button. So much stuff we need sheds and storage units to keep it all.
- Opportunity. To learn. To crate. To change careers. To try new things. To meet with like-minded people and discuss whatever is on our hearts.
- Communication. Phones. E-mail. Texting. Instagram. Skype. So many ways to communicate instantly with family and friends, no matter how distant.
- Change. The leaves have mostly fallen, reminding me that winter is approaching. The seasons in our lives come and go too. Life is not stagnant. The phase we are in now will not last forever. There is always something new, and potentially better, in the future.
Of course, I am thankful for simple and specific things too: A warm house, my favorite blanket, fresh apple cider, a cheery fire in the fireplace, looking forward to the family all together at Thanksgiving…
And, of course, the freedom and opportunity to write my random thoughts in this blog.
Don’t forget to look around you and find reasons to be thankful today.
